T'Pau wasn't concerned about venturing outside. The river wasn't far away, so her exposure to the frigid tundra would be brief. Exiting the cave, she brought her three glass containers with her. Going the short distance to the cave, she filled the containers and returned quickly.
By the time she returned she was very pale, the green of her veins standing out. Keeping herself from shivering, she placed the containers on a large rock that was almost within the fire itself. Leaving them there, the water would reach boiling eventually. Returning to where Vanessa was laying, she laid down by the Human and cuddled up to her.
With the prisoner secured and being tended to, Vaun had greater concerns than waiting for a response from the academy. The other colonists were out there somewhere, in need of medical aid and subduing. Lifting off, he flew the shuttlecraft in circles around the settlement, using it's sensors to scan for humanoid lifesigns.
"Will you require the use of the clinic to further your research?"
