How the old man could move so fast proved an intriguing mystery to Vaun. However, considering a forest which would provide refuge and a place to hide to their quarry was looming just ahead, there was no more time to reflect. Now that he was aware of the situation, the Vulcan reached into his pocket and produced a small Vulcan phaser. He of course then fired it with Vulcan precision at the fleeing man, confident in the knowledge that Vulcan phasers only had a stun setting.
Given a sweater, it smelled like all the Human's bad odors. But it was warm, and survival logically meant discomfort of many kinds. Donning it, it did not fit very well. It was too small...especially in the middle. Not sitting idle, T'Pau made sure to move about the cave to keep warm. She explored it to a certain degree, finding two passages that led to smaller caves. Both caves were dead ends, and one had an old nest of some animal. There was no sign of recent habitation.
Grateful to be out of the wind, she returned to the main cave and began to dig a row of holes across the entrance of the cave with her bare hands. That was what she was still doing when Vanessa returned. One eyebrow rose in a silent question, and she abandoned her task to watch the Human work. Supervising quietly, she was awaiting the warmth of a fire.
"You are aware of how to create a fire, are you not?"
