There was nothing but silence after she spoke. Had Danica hung up? The line still sounded open. Then the Amazon spoke, making Chrissy relieved. At least she had a chance to get help.
"I don't know if you remember her, but Arrowette. We just arrived back in Metropolis from Gotham and had just entered our new house together when there was Arrowette. Somehow she knew that we were moving in there long ahead of time and had been living in the house for days, waiting for us. More specifically, waiting for Steph."
Taking a deep breath, she needed to keep her calm. Trying to talk softly, she didn't want Steph to overhear her and get even angrier with her. She was taking a big risk, swallowing her pride and hatred for Danica to ask her for help.
"She ambushed us and threw Steph against a wall. Pinned her there and got...grabby. If I hadn't been there..." Her voice trailed off over the possibility. "She refuses to leave our new house. Says she is here 'under orders' to 'help us'. Except this is a Batman, Inc. base and operation. We're no longer part of the Justice League. There are too many things that don't add up, and I don't know what Arrowette is planning or what she could be after...except for Steph. Steph thinks our uninvited guest is harmless, but after what happened in the hallway...I can't protect Steph all the time. I need someone else here, watching her...or watching Arrowette."
Kara. She had forgotten about that hang up. Stirring in the bed, Kara reached out and touched her girlfriend's arm. The Kryptonian was awake and had heard enough.
"Tell her that we will be right there. And oh...ask her if we can bring dogs."
