"Yes." Danica answered, nodding to no one. Kara wasn't there to nod at, but she did so anyway. Pouring the drinks into mugs, she was about to pick them up and take them out when Kara surprised her. Jumping slightly, she had been too distracted by her thoughts to realize Kara had gotten up. Something that almost never happened, Danica being caught unaware.
"Fighting is what I do. It is what I know. I believe in something, I fight for it. I protect someone or something I love, I fight for them." She answered, her hands falling to the counter. "I can not deny it Kara, the Amazonian queens were said to be daughters of Ares for he looked favourably upon them. I am literally his daughter, goddess and rightful princess of the Amazons.
"Love was such a foreign thing for me. I have none the love of a mother, briefly with my own, more so with my grandmother. The love of a sister, with my kin both mortal and divine. With you, I know another love. How can I not fight for that love either? So that others may have it as well?"
Turning around, she reached up and grabbed Kara's face gently. "Poetry, song, lyric...I learned those because of my aunt, they told me it was useful. I always thought them boring, lame. You make my heart sing, my blood pump, my arms ache, my skin tingle. Like drums of war, but with you...I just want to hold you." Kissing her sweetly, for a while.
"So if you ask me if the fighting is better than the love, for you, my answer is no. But I must fight for what I believe, and for what others should have. That was what I was fighting for the day I came to metropolis. Because Zeus, like the coward he was, opened the portal and allowed the titan to step through. New information has been brought to my attention, but I cannot investigate. Not until my mother has been returned."
Hands falling, she pulled Kara against her body, hugging her tightly. "Your love is my anchor. More than you know." She said softly, knowing Kara could hear her even as a tear slid down her cheek. ---
"Hey now, its not my fault the internet exists with all its wonderful portals." Stephanie laughed, going quiet.
"Of course! I have to graduate." She answered, not sure what Chrissy saw in not graduating. Steph had to! She was going to be a great scientist or something when she grew up...more!
"You sure?" She asked, giving her a funny look. "What will you do when I am not around?"
