Elise worried her bottom lip lightly with her teeth at the question. There was only a brief pause before Elise nodded deeply but slowly. "Oui," she responded. "Very much."
Sage's lack of confidence and her turmoil was evident. Elise had a moment of wanting to comfort her and to hold her and kiss her. But, she knew that was unwise. They should wait. It would be so much better if they waited. So, with a last smile, she left the loo and made her way to class.
The rest of the day was torture. Elise had decided, perhaps foolishly, to forgo any of the touching that would have given her some relief. Though out the day, she saw Sage a few times. She always had a smile for her and felt excitement that made her tummy flutter.
Elsie made it through dinner then went back to her room. She dressed in stylish, expensive black slacks, a white silk blouse and fashionable red heels that had all been gifts from a lover that had far more money that she. Elise debated it but she left her hair down. It made the look far more casual. She didn't want to look like she was a secretary at the Ministry of Magic!
Seconds seemed to take hours as she waited for the time to go meet Sage. A few times, she had made the mistake of reaching down to touch just a little bit. Why did she torment herself so?
Finally, it was time to go. The halls seemed empty and Elise moved to stand next to the strange tapestry and looked around for Sage. For a moment, when she didn't see her, Elise wondered if she may have misjudged things...
