Ginny blinked in shock. Had Pansy just admitted to her that she had been in the loo smoking? It was no great shock that Pansy, or any other Slytherin really, would break the rules. The shocking part was that she would just come right out and say it in front of Ginny. "Ewww..." She wrinkled her nose at the idea of smoking. "Gross."
She flinched slightly as Pansy cupped her cheek. "Yeah I-" Ginny instantly stopped speaking and stammered, "Wait, what?" Ginny had been totally ready to say that she was sick when Pansy remarked she was burning up. Merlin, had that backfired!
"I was not!" Ginny objected. She was totally flabbergasted that Pansy had so expertly pinpointed how she felt and what she was doing in the loo. Bloody hell, had it been so obvious to everyone? The thought sent a chill down her spine.
"Why would you say that?" she accused, hoping to deflect from Pansy's own accusations. "Maybe...that's what you were doing in here? That's why you lied and said you were smoking?"
