“Thanks,” Tracey responded with a big smile. She was never one for compliments, but with the sincerity with which Heidi spoke them she found that she liked hearing them from her.
“I like your costume,” Tracey commented, making a point of eying the “vampire” up and down. “I think I wouldn’t mind if you wanted to suck my blood.” She giggled at her lame joke, wishing it had been cooler than it was.
“You know…I stashed the costume that I wanted you to see…for when things got over…” She looked to Heidi questioningly, hoping she would get the hint.
"Yeah, I think they could use a scuff or two," she agreed with a smirk.
She smiled. Tracey couldn’t bring herself to disagree. As far as she was concerned, Heidi was right. And though she didn’t think it was ideal, Tracey knew what they needed to do. “Well, why let that ruin a good thing?” she asked softly, smiling at Heidi.
