Cormac was shocked when Hermione's hand found his cheek. He glared at her though his expression contained a mix of shock, lust and anger. He started to speak but stopped himself. After a moment, he grinned. "So, that's the game? Can't just enjoy it and need to put up a fight?" It was visible on his face the wheels in his head were turning.
Ginny suddenly ducked behind the curtain, her wand drawn. "Sorry to interrupt," Ginny said, her tone conveying that she was anything but. "Hermione has way better taste than sully herself with someone like you."
"Go away, Weasley," he said in a smug tone laced with annoyance. "We're busy."
Ginny tapped her wand against her leg and glared at Cormac. Cormac gave Hermione a disgruntled look and slipped out of the curtains and went back to the party. "Are you all right? What a prat."
