When Ginny asked about her dorm mate Hermione could only shrug her shoulders. "I havn't a clue. I was trying to read my novel when Lavenders look at me I'm a ditz laugh rang through the room." As she said it Hermione tossed her hair as if she were a the stereotypical blonde. When she finished she dropped her hands to her side, the fingertips of one glancing the bottom of Ginny's foot as it fell.
It was silly, but Hermione only felt girly when she was around Ginny. All the other girls made her feel as if she was being judged. At the moment words could not have expressed how grateful she was that Ginny'd dorm was void of other inhabitants. It was really too bad that the older girls weren't given the opportunities to chose which dorm they wanted to be in. Given the opportunity, Hermione would have chosen a different set of individuals as her roommates.
"She does always seem to have a bloke on her arm," Hermione nodded wondering if that was the true reason she was upset was because she didn't feel that her best friend deserved to be used and tossed away like a soiled pair of underwear. "You should hear the way she and Parvati talk at night. It's enough to make me blush."
As she said the words, Hermione consciously felt Ginny's toes brush against her leg and involuntarily blushed at the mixture of touch and memory of things the other girls talked about. "She never," Hermione stumbled slightly, "um, never mentions him. Maybe it's because she knows how close we are. Along with the fact that if I ever actually had to deal with phrase Won Won in my own room she believes I might actually hex her."
