"Actually, I think she'd just barely returned to the Common Room when I excused myself." Hermione normally wouldn't have known that information except for the fact that Vicky had been one of the individuals openly gawking at her after the scene she'd made with Ron.
Though as she crossed the room, Hermione wondered how much she really ought to say about Ron. It was one thing when they were all at Grimmauld to make snide comments about the boys because when they were there Hermione felt more like family. Yet here at Hogwarts there was a bit of a distance between Ginny and her. Not that it was done on purpose but the very nature of the school structure tended to keep them running in different circles.
When Ginny shifted, Hermione kicked her own shoes off and pulled herself onto the bed. Leaning against one of the foot posts she stretched her legs and sincerely hoped Ginny didn't mind her making herself comfortable. Besides, they sat like this in the room they shared over the summer all the time. Hermione didn't even register the fact that her left foot was resting against Ginny's thigh.
"I've lived with her for six years and been in most of her classes during that time frame. Trust me when I tell you Lavender Brown is anything but stupid." Hell, she was obviously smarter when it came to dealing with blokes because she often held their attention. The only time Hermione could get them to be passionate with her was when they were arguing the taking of points.
