Daphne wandered the halls of the Ministry on her way back from the little café that served ministry employees and visitors. She was absolutely worthless without her morning chai. How had she lived seven years at Hogwarts without it, Daphne would never know.
Ignorance is bliss…
In the coming days, she would really come to believe that to be true. For now, she walked back to her office in her expensive and elegant robes. The velvet of dark purple hinted at modesty while hugging her curves. Her red hair was up in a bun and her high heeled boots clicked on the marble floors as she walked.
Nearing her office, Daphne paused when she saw…a reporter. She would have loved to walk past and ignore it. However, as a newly minted Public Relations Officer, the press was very much her problem. Standing up a little straighter, Daphne walked over to the reporter.
“Miss Bell, it’s so nice to see you,” Daphne said once she had gotten up to her. Smiling brightly and happily, a well-practiced mask she wore in her job, Daphne waited for Katie to greet her back. “What brings you to the Ministry today?”
Who did she write for these days? Daphne tried to think back, she had made a habit of knowing the reporters for each paper. Was she at the Daily Prophet?
