Harry nodded. Her blush made his heart skip a beat. "Yeah...I..." he stammered and trailed off, not really sure what else he could say.
"Oh? Oh!" Harry felt a little silly for assuming. But, then again, he knew how it turned out. They might just be mates now but they wouldn't be forever. In fact, they were spending the rest of their lives together in St Mungos. He banished the thoughts from his mind though.
"So...you aren't seeing anyone?" he asked, feeling bold. "That's good," he added softly. He couldn't believe he said that! " I mean...I didn't mean that is good. Well, except..." He trailed off and looked at her questioningly.
Deciding it was a good idea to leave before he made a total arse of himself, Harry stood up. After all, Alice had suggested calling it a night. Smiling shyly, Harry waited for her to stand and join him.
