Ari’s reaction was…strange. It really was just a simple Illumination Charm. Emma glanced over at the soft light that she had completely come to take for granted. Was Emma’s special in some way? Had Beauxbaton’s taught her the spell differently? “Merci,” Emma said, trying to sound gracious. However, her tone had a hint of confusion to it.
Emma grinned back. “So, I am one of zee pretty ones?” Emma replied softly. Was the new girl flirting back at her? Her fantasy material was getting better by the moment. Though, she did feel a spark of hope that Ari’s flirtation might be sincere.
“Are you blushing, chere?” Emma asked as she cocked her head to the side and regarded Ari. The smirk she wore remained firmly fixed in place. “Whatever for?”
Emma adjusted on the bed. The movement carried her a few inches closer to Ari though the motion and Emma’s intent was meant to be subtle. However, she didn’t know how subtle she had managed to be with her head still light from the Firewhiskey earlier.
Reaching out, Emma brushed Ari’s knee with a single extended finger. “I like your outfit,” Emma replied. “Tres chic.” Emma kept her gaze fixed on the knee as she traced a light circle there before pulling her finger away.
Emma, in her mind, was just having fun for the moment. She knew she could still deny the authenticity of her flirting if she needed to. Then, there were always Memory Charms if that failed...
