Vicky rolled her eyes again. "What kind of grown man needs to try and do that with a bunch of teenagers? What a bloody git!" She shook her head. The Carrows were going to be the worst to deal with all year, she was sure of that.
"Yeah, let's not put it off anymore. We don't want to end up with detention."
"Ancient Runes? Really?" she asked with a raised eyebrow. "I think I would rather jam my wand in my ear than take Ancient Runes!"
Vicky nodded. "Exactly." She regarded Ginny. "Do you think you'll be invited to anymore Slug Club meetings? You went to a couple last year, right?" Vicky had been envious of those Slughorn considered to be rising stars. Was it too much to hope that if she made a good show of Quidditch that year that she might get an invite herself?
If she didn't, maybe she would just need to see about going as someone's date?
Smiling happily, she nodded in agreement. They were stuck there, why not make the most of it?
Waiting for Ginny, she was happy she didn't need to wait long. Once they were upstairs, Vicky closed the door then flopped down on the bed. "It has been a bit of a crazy summer." She kicked her feet lightly. "I've been able to ignore a lot of what has been going on because my friends at home are Muggles."
"And...I had a bit of a summer romance," she said with a big grin, hoping the little detail would entice Ginny's curiosity.
