Lucy's hand felt good as she stroked her hair. She relished the sensation mostly because she knew that she wouldn't feel her hand in her hair again for a long time; if ever. That thought made another tear form at the corner of Katie's eye.
Katie shrugged. She knew that she had no idea how she had gotten her magic. All she knew is that she never stole anything willingly. She knew no one knew how Muggleborns got their magic. And she was sure the people claiming it was stolen had no proof of that. "Doesn't seem to matter," she mumbled, already seeing how people were reacting.
Katie sighed. Lucy could be so stubborn! "Come on, Lucy? Please don't make this any harder than it needs to be." She swallowed the lump rising in her throat. "I have no idea where I am going to go. I might need...to hide. I can't ask you to do that."
