Penny blushed and shrugged. “Thank you. I am not sure that it’s that good.” She chewed her bottom lip. “Thanks,” she repeated, unsure what else to say. Feeling a little silly, she concentrated on eating her dinner.
Clearly, Penny didn’t believe Jessica as she smiled. “Well, I am sure that once we are sitting in front of the fire it will be even toastier,” she mused.
“She is doing well. Last time she wrote me, she mentioned that she really wishes to get to know your sister better. She has spoken to Claire a few times, she has been quite nice. Please thank her for me. I am sure that she would not otherwise choose to associate with a fourth year if not for her connection to you.” She remembered school quite well.
Once they were done eating, she took the plates away and set them to soak before returning with the warm apple pie and whipped cream.
