Daphne was still skeptical. She really had no idea what she should do. It sounded logical but she was sure this wasn't a matter of pure logic. She wasn't totally opposed but maybe there was a way to help Astoria in a way that only skated the line of impropriety?
"I see," Daphne replied. "I might have to look into this girl myself?" She glanced at Astoria. "Maybe I can ask Elise about her or ask around in general. Don't worry, I will be subtle." Daphne was always good about such things.
Once outside, she saw Pansy stirring from her bed. She gave Daphne a questioning look but didn't say anything. Getting some clothes for Astoria, she picked her least favorite dress in the event she didn't get it back and slid it between the curtains.
She made small talk with Pansy as she got ready. "It is almost time for breakfast," Pansy told Daphne. "Shouldn't you be getting dressed?"
"I will." Daphne didn't want to raise suspicion so she started to get dressed herself. She made sure to go slow so that Pansy and Tracey would both be ready and leave the room before she was totally ready so she could talk to Astoria a bit moreā¦
