Ginny felt cautious optimism as the other girl didn’t ask her about her lack of money to contribute to the pool for more snacks and such. When the subject didn’t come up, she had to hide her joy. “Thank you,” Ginny said to them both and grabbed an acid pop to start.
Seeing Hermione whisper something to Harry, Ginny tried not to feel bad about being left out and just ignored it and pretended not to see the exchange. Were they talking about her? Probably not but Ginny couldn’t help but wonder…
“Defense Against the Dark Arts,” Ginny answered. “I also want to join the Dueling Club.” She also wanted to join the Quidditch team but her brothers had talked her out of it.

“It’s all right,” Harry whispered back because he really didn’t know what else to say.
Digging in to the tasty tucker, Harry had three chocolate frogs open and eaten within a couple of minutes. He shrugged. “Potions, I think. My mum is brilliant with them and she thinks I might be too. Other than that…” Harry shrugged. “I don’t know. Care of Magical Creatures seems pretty neat.”
“What are you looking forward to?”
Harry had yet to change and needed to. It was already getting dark outside. It could wait though…
“You need to get your uniform on,” a Prefect said, sticking his head in the door. Harry, wide eyed and startled nodded. Getting his uniform out of his trunk, Harry quickly went off to the loo to change leaving Ginny and Hermione alone for a bit.
