Katie didn’t know what to make of Lucy's reaction. Was she terrified? Was she afraid that Katie had broken up with Ginny for her? Was she going to run for the hills? Swallowing hard, Katie nodded slowly. "I…I'm sorry. I wanted to tell you…then this. I know this is a terrible time…if you are freaked out…it's okay if…" She couldn't even bring herself to offer Lucy the chance to leave if she wanted.
Taking the glass, Katie gulped down most of the water in it before setting the glass aside.
"Thanks," she murmured as Lucy helped her sit up. She moaned weakly as pain flooded her and her head swam. It took her a moment to recover. "That's…better." She shifted a little before settling in.
