Tracey scoffed at Heidi’s suggestion. Though it felt like everyone was her enemy, she recognized that wasn’t completely the truth. However, Tracey never had anyone in her life that she had completely trusted. “I know. It just feels like that sometimes,” Tracey sighed, giving thought her voice.
Shrugging, Tracey didn’t want to get into it again. Nodding, she was eager to move beyond the harsh words of moments before. However, it made her feel good that her suspicions were vindicated, though there was a part of her that had secretly wished that she was wrong and that Heidi’s parents didn’t care.
“Don’t you think that might be a scandal? If something got out?” she asked gently.
Tracey had her own problems with her parents for sure so she could feel for the other girl. “It is their loss,” she said softly.
Her eyes went a little wider as Heidi asked such an unveiled question. Tracey paused for a long time. Slowly, she shook her head not trusting herself to speak yet. She kept her eyes on Heidi. “I enjoyed…touching you in class. So, I just…gave into it.” Tracey licked her lips nervously.
Tracey had admitted it and now Heidi knew something that was a secret. She had to trust to some degree if she was going to get what she wanted. However, that didn’t make it any easier.
