Tracey was not one to placate people, but at the same time she saw no need to point out flaws that were not there or exaggerate ones that were. Looking at Heidi quizzically, she shrugged. “Well, it is not perfect for sure. However, color and consistency are the hardest aspects to get right. Sometimes, a potion is nearly perfect save for those. Of course, that means it will still not work exactly right. But, this one is not about blow up.”
Getting up, she dumped one cauldron then the other. Setting them back upon the desk, they would need to pause to let them cool. Wondering what to do until then, she decided to perform an experiment of a different type.
“Put you wand down,” Tracey said. Reaching for Heidi’s hand, she took it lightly in her grasp and began to lightly rub. “I think part of your problem is you hold your wand like you’re holding a Bludger.” What she had really meant to say was bat, but didn’t even notice her own mistake. “Your fingers and hand need to be loose when you are stirring.”
Pretending to be all business, Tracey did crack a small smile. “See, here is your test to see if I would give a good shoulder rub,” she said with a laugh. Spending time looking down at their hands, Tracey did sneak peeks to watch Heidi now and then.
