Pansy nodded glad that Misses Malfoy agreed with her assessment of the situation. Clearly, she had some experience with this sort of thing and Pansy’s aspiring to a similar station made her glad that she’d seen the ploy for what it likely was.
“Of course,” Pansy agreed. A change was coming, there was no doubt about that…
She kept her features carefully schooled as she always did around this topic. In her youthful idealism, she didn’t truly consider the most terrifying parts of what was likely to come; after all, there had already been a murder. Pansy didn’t want to appear weak by appearing afraid of more bloodshed…
Pansy regarded Misses Malfoy for a moment. Her answer had hardly been forthright. “I am…well,” she answered in almost exactly the same way. A smile tugged at the corner of her mouth.
She had pushed the thoughts away when they had come up in the previous weeks but one of the reasons she was willing to go to Draco’s home was that she would be able to see his mother.
The poor woman was likely lonely and missing her husband. And Death Eaters that came in and out likely made poor substitutes for the type of attention she was used to.
Plus, there was the selfish motivation that she might get to spend some time with Misses Malfoy.
“Were there plans made for this evening?” she asked Misses Malfoy.
Suspecting she would not be allowed to stay with Draco, not that she would be heartbroken by that, she said, “I could also use to freshen up before dinner.” She assumed her things had been brought to one of the guest rooms.
“After that, I can say hello to Draco,” Pansy said. She knew his mother doted on him, so she was careful not to let her lack of excitement for that show.
((ooc: No problem. RL happens. Seems like everyone was really busy with the holiday. Glad you are back. :) I figured I’d set up to skip ahead a bit. We can gloss over them awkwardly dancing around each other for a few days, if that is cool by you?))
