Penny nodded. "I hope, someday, I can find someone that I will place equal importance on. If we were…a family, you know?" She wasn't sure that Jessica would understand. She'd never had a family of her own; well, children of her own. "Then it is a matter of who needs me most at any given time."
She was babbling and she knew it. "Sorry, I didn't mean…to go on like that."
"I understand. Priorities are something Pureblood society seems to snug. How much you can get away with turns into some sort of status symbol," Penny mused with obvious disapproval. "They would never sack me, I am a Malfoy," she mimicked in a sing song tone before shaking her head.
"I understand what you mean about parties and fun," Penny assured her.
Penny blushed furiously. "Thank you." She really didn't know what else to say. "She really is my world. She always has been." She hung her head, looking a little guilty. "I put her before everything."
