Lavender nodded and grinned like the cat who’d just eaten the canary. When Heidi looked away, Lavender’s grin widened. “Well,” she purred, “I guess it’s not the only reason.”
Seizing the opportunity, Lavender closed the rest of the distance so that their bodies were nearly touching. “Part peace offering, part reward, I suppose you can say,” Lavender mused breathlessly.
Leaning in, she whispered, “Me and…a Hufflepuff, who shall remain nameless, had a little wager on the game. If Gryffindor won, she’d be visiting Katie right now.” She grinned evilly.
“Seems like Gryffindor losing was one of the best things to happen to me all year…”
