Jules had to fight the urge to shift or fidget. The tension was thick as Claire's thumb lightly caressed her. Her breathing quickened just a little before Claire finally pulled away to sit.
How did Claire get so good at foot massages? Clearly they shared a talent, though Julia's was more about practice than inherent talent. She melted into the chair, as much as she allowed it to show, as Claire's fingers worked her sore feet.
Julia laughed. "I think I would have done the same thing," she conceded. "I wouldn't want to lose it." She shrugged. "I doubt I would lose it but it's better safe than sorry." It made sense to give it to Claire though. "Do you think it might be a lucky?" she inquired playfully.
"I think the blanket in my crib was blue and gray," Jules laughed, though she never really talked about her family or upbringing. It was likely as big of a mystery as to what carried her away from school from time to time.
