Padma shook her head emphatically. “No, no,” she stammered immediately. Her cheeks were very pink now. She couldn’t tell if the older girl was leading her because she wanted to know or because she knew already. “I couldn’t do that. Just…say it.”
“We don’t really have anything in common,” Padma confessed with a sigh. “It’s just…” She couldn’t bring herself to say that it was just a physical attraction on her part. Padma looked to her professor, wondering if she understood.
“The only thing we have in common is my sister, sadly. And Parvati…wouldn’t like that too much, I think, even if her friend was interested.”
