"I could, and it would be grounds for me getting involved if anyone were to harass you while using it. Professor... Headmaster," she corrected, "Snape and I were on good terms while we both worked here. He would listen to me if I had to get involved. I'm almost sure of it."
She prayed she was right. It wasn't like she could give a pass like that to everyone, just to a select few. "I used to do it for all my advanced students, but ... well," she said, waving a hand around as though saying: things such as they are, that's not possible.

An old acquaintence got it for me." An old girlfriend, really, but that wasn't proper to talk to the child about, was it? "It's a lovely green with all these shades of gold in it."
