Daphne didn’t really notice the irony. “I suspect I will adore her too. Maybe I should meet them?” she suggested, more wondering how Sara would react than out of an immediate desire to do so.
She smiled as she listened to Sara. “What kind mistress would I be if I didn’t take care of you?” That was their relationship, wasn’t it? Lots was left unspoken but Daphne was used to that. Theo and Sara were going to be married and nothing was going to stop that. Theo was going to be her lover but he didn’t deserve her. This was far better.
“I like aggressive,” Daphne purred.
Daphne allowed Sara to gracefully withdraw to get the door. Standing, she waited for the food to be set out and the servant to be gone. “Looks lovely.” She waited for Sara to sit before moving to sit in her lap. Taking a strawberry, she dipped it in chocolate before bringing it to Sara’s lips. Lightly, she rubbed it against them to get her to open her mouth.
“How would a bad girl get hers?” Daphne mused as she fed Sara.
