Bella's parents had tried, and failed, on countless occasions. The fact was that Bellatrix Black didn't feel that her parents should be the ones setting her up, nor did she want to get married to some idiotic male. They all were the same, and wanted only one thing. Bellatrix was better than that. Much better.
Relieved she wasn't going to have to do anything to the poor bastard, Bella waited for the entire point of this conversation, and why Alice seemed uneasy. And then the bomb was dropped.
Hands going still, her heart felt like it stopped. "What?"
There was only that question from her before she stood quickly, the chair flying from where it was and clattering onto the ground that was behind her, but was now further than it had been. Instead, bellatrix now had her back at Alice, staring at the wall as she felt a bitter anger well up in her. She felt betrayed.
