Tracey didn’t really get what Heidi was getting at. Most of the time it was far more envy than lust when you wanted to be as attractive as someone else. Was she trying to say something in a vague way that Tracey didn’t get or was she just being incoherent? Shrugging, she suspected it was more a matter of their forced interaction. “I see.”
Having looked away for a moment, that was the down fall of their potion. “You need measure it fi-“ She wasn’t even able to finish her instruction before the motion erupted. Seeing Heidi step in front of her helped to abate, at least a little, her quickly rising anger.
Feeling a hint of ash on her face, Tracey knew she hadn’t escaped unscathed. “Well, that was bloody brilliant,” Tracey seethed, staring at Heidi. She was tempted to really let her have it. But, that would hardly earn her any friends.
Except Slytherins, Tracey thought evilly. The thought was tempting. If she made a fool out of the Hufflepuff, she might get into better graces with her housemate. Besides, it would feel good because she really was angry. But, she didn’t.
Having written off her housemates, she wasn’t going to do anything to try and fix that relationship. She was more likely to do the opposite. Staring at Heidi, her jaw was tight. Sighing, she shook her head and looked over at the hourglass. They still had some time left…
“We might be able to brew an adequate potion if we hurry,” she said. Angrily, she noticed students looking at them and chuckling. How the plebes enjoyed seeing their betters fall…
Slughorn seemed shocked by the development. Shrugging, he moved on to other students that called to him for help.
“I will brew it and you can help,” Tracey said, her tone tight. Sitting back down, she used her wand to begin cleaning up. Her anger was restrained, but if Heidi chose to be snide or bitchy things could go quite differently…
