Tracey wasn't sure exactly what Sara was saying. Before break, Sara had told her that she still cared about her. Was it that? Was it that getting seen with Tracey would make her life difficult? It was probably both. "I understand," she replied coolly.
Shrugging, Tracey didn't want to talk about Heidi. It made her feel guilty because she was using the person she loved as a weapon against someone she cared about. It wasn't fair to any of them.
"Thanks," Tracey replied weakly. The hand on her shoulder felt nice but it was clear by her slumped posture that Tracey wasn't as optimistic as Sara claimed to be. Tracey suspected that Sara didn't believe that it would really get better.
Tracey sighted softly, smiling when Sara kept her hand there. It felt nice...
