Jules cocked an eyebrow at Claire and she regarded the other girl in silence for a few long moments. She let her skepticism slowly begin to show in her expression as her lips twisted into an odd mix of a smirk and a scowl. “Come now, Claire. We both know that isn’t true.”
She weighed heavily what she should offer. “You have a few…contradictions.” Jules sighed happily as Claire continued to rub her feet. “First, you have a pretty girl that you adore and are devoted two despite your respective houses yet you are not in love and still share a bed.” Jules pursued her lips as she awaited Claire’s answer.
Julia laughed. “I hope you have a nice inheritance because I will need to mooch off of it to avoid the poor house.” She pouted prettily. “I would not do well being poor…”
