“Well, I mean, I did wake you up,” Lilyth said softly. “So…I should apologize, right?” Why was this so hard? The Gods, mysterious to most mortals, were not hard for Lilyth to understand. But mortals, including herself, with their base desires and complex emotions practically drove her mad as she tried to understand them.
Feeling herself flush as Ahayla approached, she as thankful for the darkness that hid it and the fire that camouflaged her reddened cheeks and neck. It had been difficult to think with Ahayla asleep a few feet away. Not it seemed like thinking was impossible.
Could she just come right out and say it? How could she possibly explain? Sighing, Lilyth stalled for time. Shaking her head, she caused the hair to move from in front of her eyes.
Looking of at Ahayla, Lilyth remained silent for a long time. She tried to see in her eyes if she saw what she did on other occasions. It looked like Ahayla would simply pounce on her; taking on an aspect that was almost like the pets she kept. Was it all in joking and good fun or was it more?
Did Ahayla even remember the conversation that had taken place in the Stonetalon Mountains? Had she come to change her mind?
Still silent, she practically begged Ahayla to say something that would make things easier.
