Lilyth didn’t think that anything they shared would be “bad”. She cared about Ahayla and she was attracted to her. There were nagging thoughts in the back of her mind. Lilyth knew there would be people who would think such relations vile or even blasphemous. They would produce no children and so many had died…
“Why would anything we did be bad?” Lilyth asked sincerely. She needed to hear Ahayla’s assurance as she struggled with her faith and fear of the unknown.
Nodding, she smiled happily at her friend. “I meant it, you know?” Lilyth began mysteriously as she slid her arm around her friend. It had struck her in that moment, shrouded in the comfy blankets and in the dim light of the fire. “You really are very pretty.”
“I am happy,” Lilyth replied. Things were going slow and that was wonderful to her.
