“I’m sure you do,” she said in a rather dry voice.
“Yes I wasn’t in Muggle school long enough to find out, I suppose they start that after the age of eleven,” she mused, trying to to feel too worked up about what was coming.
Hermione felt very exposed suddenly, maybe she shouldn’t be doing this with her wand out of reach? He looked on the defensive already.
“I’m sure you’re confused about what has happened tonight,” she started slowly, “I mean, we are enemies and we have been at it like rabbits for the better part of an hour…” She looked down, emotion bubbling in her, speaking to her hands with her soft curls falling in her face she continued, “this isn’t the first time we have done this, its not even the second or the third. A few months ago, something similar happened over the course of a couple of weeks. I got scared that someone was going to find out if it continued, it would destroy us both of course, so I cast a memory charm on you to make you forget the whole thing ever happened.”
Her voice had gotten softer and more ashamed as she spoke, she glanced up at him through her curtain of curls.
