Tracey began to move to sit with Heidi. Frankly, she really wanted to be next to her for strength and comfort. It looked like she would need it. Tracey actually gasped softly as Heidi's mother's words were like a slap. She didn't know how to respond. Saying thank you for the compliment of her style would seem to acknowledge she was a slag.
"I want to open a shop to sell potions. I have brewed a few of my own creation and I think that I could make a pretty good living at it," Tracey answered, her tone weak and unsure. She squeezed Heidi's hand. "I love your daughter with all my heart and…because people know about us, I have been scorned at school. And I didn't even think about ending things with her."
"I want her in my life," Tracey told her. "I don’t care about your money." Her voice got stronger as Heidi's mother had touched upon one of her biggest issues. "I don't want anything from her. I never take her money." That wasn't really true, but she always objected when Heidi wanted to treat.
