“You didn’t answer my question though,” Megan replied, sounding a bit put out. “Do you really think that little of me?” She regarded Hannah. “The Hannah that I know wouldn’t like that person very much, I don’t think.”
In truth, she had really just thought that her innocent friend was just easily flustered. “Well…I can be a little slow. There had to be some reason I am not a Ravenclaw,” she joked, hoping Hannah might let her off the hook; as usual. Megan wasn’t always the most observant…
“If you had been a bit more obvious, maybe I would have,” Megan harrumphed with equal coldness.
“I’m not,” Megan sighed exasperated. Was this how her going out on a limb was going to be rewarded? If so, she wished she’d never suggested it. “I said I liked the idea. I’ve never really…well…been on a proper date and I can’t think of anyone I’d like to go on one with more.”
Megan laughed. She was tempted to make a joke. “Well, you are pretty hard to resist but I promise to behave and you can scold me if my hands wander too much. Deal?”
