"When I say it like that it's the truth. Truth can hurt." Hannah said plainly. Hearing Megan's defense, Hannah had to fight to not roll her eyes. "I'm sure they mean something in the moment, but nothing special. Nothing that stands out and makes you take notice. And I don't mean in a 'oh, what you're doing feels nice' kind of notice."
Hannah shrugged. "Maybe not, but they fell for your charming smile and witty lines and it's the same routine ending in the same goal. They know what they're getting."
In any other situation, Megan's gently teasing would have made her blush. This wasn't that kind of situation. "Yes." she said plainly. "So I've had to sit back and watch you charm and flirt and shag all your flings for three years. You pay attention to every girl you think is pretty. Every girl but me. I've had to watch you and wish that you would take some notice of me, hope that maybe one day you'll look at me differently that just little miss goody goody perfect prefect Hannah Abbott and look at me differently than just a possible fling and have me mean as much to you as you do to me...but obviously all that time was wasted." Taking a deep breath, Hannah had to look away to stop tears from falling.
Keeping her back turned still, Hannah sobbed and let Megan's hand rest on her back, but didn't acknowledge it.
