Hannah blushed as her comment about being in love silenced Megan. She knew she shouldn't have said anything that serious, but it was what she wanted. She wanted her first time to be with her first love. She had never been in love before, but she wanted to be, and that was what made the wait worthwhile.
Not thinking Megan's joke was at all funny, Hannah kept her serious face. "I don't want to be on anyone's fling list, no matter how 'illustrious' the list is." It was becoming clear that Hannah was in fact hurt that Megan would consider her as just another fling. Megan had always meant more that others to Hannah, and Hannah wished she would mean more to Megan than her other flings, but apparently not.
This new revelation, that Megan obviously did only want Hannah to be another on her list, upset Hannah. She had had a huge crush on Megan for a couple of years and had always hoped that it would be returned, but no. Megan was just randy and Hannah was near. She had always been a sensitive girl, but tried not to let it show too much. But this really hurt. Tears threatened the corner of her eyes.
"Don't think I don't know what you do, after you add one to your 'list'." By this point, Hannah was deflecting her hurt feelings to anger. "You steal something from them, go off and tell Claire Runcorn about it, you two have a laugh about it and shag and then forget them unless you're alone in your bed and need a thought to get you off. Excuse me for wanting my first time to be a bit more meaningful than that."
"I refuse to be another of your flings, because unlike some I am not a slag." she said, rather pointedly. It had to be some of the residual alcohol talking because usually Hannah would never have the nerve to say that!
Not wanting to let Megan see the tears that were now clearly threatening to fall, Hannah turned her back to Megan, still close to the girl though, and bit her lip to keep from sobbing.
