Katie stood by. It wasn't in her nature to be mean, but she didn't think any more highly of Tracey than Ginny did. However, Heidi knew that they thought it was a bad idea and she had to make her own decisions. She just hoped that Tracey wouldn't hurt her again…
"It looks like you food is ready," Katie said, gesturing to the brown bag being put on the counter. Tracey shot to her feet almost immediately and made her way over to get it and nearly ran out the door.
Katie gave Heidi a reassuring smile, willing her to be careful.
Ginny just shook her head. Leaning over, she whispered to Heidi, "Heidi, come out with us." The tension between them was worse than normal because of the tone Heidi had used. "You know what she did to you. Just forget about her."
