Katija, her brow and hair already damp, smiled at the other girl as she greeted her back. The two were getting a few stares from people as they danced closer and closer. The dark club didn’t allow to gawkers to see how much their bodies brushed together.
“Decided to make it out to the show?” she shouted over the music. Katja didn’t wait for the song to end.
She wasn’t sure what it was but the air around her practically crackled with excitement. Katja was totally unaware of the figure that skirted the shadows at the edge of the room. However, that figure certainly added to the electricity in the air.
“Katja,” she said in the lull between songs. “Kat,” she corrected, wishing the girl to use her nickname. “Alex, right?” Katja had noticed her nametag at the diner.
Using the desire to talk as an excuse, a fairly transparent one, Katja moved closer to Alex. “Want a drink?” she asked, her breath caressing her ear.
