The crowd was working against her. It was a sea of bodies that briefly parted and swallowed up itself again and again. The current never seems to flow in the direction she wanted. The heady scene of sweat was getting stronger and it was the type of sweat you knew came from just letting yourself go. Filled with pheromones and heat.
Alex finally made it to the edge of the mosh and she was briefly distracted by the strong upbeat of a new song and the push of people. Her eyes quickly scanned the crowd, but she couldn't find the blonde. It was just so crowded. Her body started to sway on its own accord and she ducked the shoe of a girl crowd surfing, though she chuckled and felt the mood kicking in.
People came and went right by her, caught up in dancing and paying no attention to who they ran into, only in the dance and the music. Alex felt herself bring up her hands to catch a girl who was about to dance into her. It took her a moment to recognize that it was the blonde she had originally wandered over for and instinctively, one of her hands caught the back of the blonde's shirt before she danced away.
