Ginny was very excited for Luna’s birthday this year. Her little blonde friend had had many birthdays that she had attended and sadly, no one but Ginny ever came. She hoped that this coming year, their fourth year, that Luna would make more friends. It wasn’t that Ginny minded being Luna’s only real friend, she just wanted everyone else to see what an amazing person that Luna was.
Since the summer before, she and Luna had become close in an intimate way. Their fun was still innocent, they had always hung all over each other, embraced and slept next to each other when one or the other was staying over so no one in the Weasley house had noticed that anything had changed between the girls. Ginny was happy tonight they would be at Luna’s house, it was always a fun experience and they hadn’t gotten a lot of alone time with Luna in a while. Ginny loved alone time with Luna…
The redhead was wearing a paisley cream skirt with pink peasant blouse and her long red hair was freshly washed that morning and hung down her back, flowing free. In her hands, she carried a brightly wrapped present. She had gotten Luna several things for her birthday this year, a book on creatures that Ginny had found at Florish and Blots in the oddities section she knew Luna would love, a pretty set of enchancted hair barrettes that were butterflies, the wings would flutter when pinned into your hair and the blue in them matched Luna’s eyes perfectly, and Mrs. Weasley had knitted a very cute blue and silver vest for Luna to match her Ravenclaw house colors.
Ringing the doorbell, Ginny was excited to see what Luna’s cake would look like this year.
