“So I’m not a girl like that anymore?” Tracey shot back. Some of what Heidi said was true, but a lot of it wasn’t. She bit back a nasty comment about not following Heidi back when she destroyed everything. But, she couldn’t be that cruel.
The arms folded across her chest got even tighter. “I’m not,” she mumbled angrily, knowing that was exactly what she was doing.
Heidi’s chuckle cooled Tracey’s rising anger. “It is kind of funny, isn’t it?” she agreed with a weak chuckle. Maybe funny wasn’t exactly the right word but she couldn’t come up with another one.
Looking over at the bed, she wanted to go back over and sit down again next to Heidi. However, her pride wouldn’t let her do that. Leaning against the wall, Tracey looked over at Heidi. She was quickly losing any drive to keep fighting…
