Tracey’s brow furrowed. “What does that mean?” She wasn’t wild about the idea of Heidi being in her head. She really didn’t like the idea of Heidi being in her head. Were they really of the same mind on the matter? Did they both feel hopeful at the possibility and fearful of it at the same time?
“It’s all right.” She couldn’t bring herself to say that there was nothing to be sorry for.
Moving her pawn, Tracey looked over the board at Heidi. “Why…do you look at me like that? Don’t you know what that does to me?” She looked down almost immediately as if studying the board.
Lighting up a fag, she was happy for the distraction.
