Tracey chuckled. It was an amusing image. She could see herself in some little uniform spooning out soup before a five course meal and being checked out by all Heidi’s friends. The image became much nicer when she saw Heidi looking at her possessively. “Well, you should start saving up then.”
She knew what Heidi meant. Some of Heidi’s code words were still so obvious to her despite the time that had passed. Relaxing meant drinking and drugs. Despite actually trying, Tracey couldn’t hide her disappointment and disgust.
“Maybe spending some time outside of Ireland might be something different?” Tracey suggested. Finishing up her dinner, Tracey pushed it away. “Want to wait a little while for dessert?”
Policing up the dishes, she set them in the sink before moving to the living room. Merlin, what were they going to do now? What were they going to talk about?
