Danica refrained from making a snarky comment about the demon being a live one. She would have hoped, had it been a dead one, the only kind she could think of was vampire. And she did not deal with vampires. Vampires were banned from the kingdom, she would not deal with them. There was also a deep underlying fear of vampires that she would never admit, incidents from when she had been young had been the reason why they were banned by her father. Stemming away from those thoughts, she turned her gaze on Adam for a moment, studying him before turning away.
She knew that humans liked to have their capitals above ground, in the open, where they were prone to attack more often, and that’s why the humans societies never lasted. Her father had said so, it was why he was still ruling and had seen many human kingdoms fall. He had seen much, and often told her stories. Danica was surprised her father wasn’t a serious no-nonsense king.
Smirking at Carter as he scrambled away like a little girl, Danica turned away from the man. “I’ve seen faeries with more courage than you,” she commented, looking for the way out of the small area. Guns? What sort of contraptions were guns? “I’m guessing the humans developed these guns as well?” They were always coming up with different and odd things, trying to get ahead of everyone else.
“Then take me to the demon,” Danica ordered, turning around and crossing her arms. The faster, the sooner, the better. And she was suddenly very curious to see what demon she would bring to her command now, perhaps she could convince her father to let her keep it. As a pet, maybe she could scare her younger brother with that.
