Hearing Tracey admit that they had been happy, that it was the happiest she had ever been, made Heidi's heart soar and sink again.
"What's wrong with that? I could have at least given you some to help open up a potions store or something. So you could do something that you actually liked." Heidi bit her lip as her parents were mentioned. "They didn't hate you, they would have had to care to hate you. They just didn't want you to interfere with my practice, which you didn't."
Heidi looked shocked as Tracey broke down. She had known that Tracey had been scared, just not to what extent it got to her. Seeing Tracey cry, she started to tear up too.
Moving closer to Tracey, she placed a hand on her cheek. "I'm sorry." She didn't know exactly what for, but she felt she should say it. stepping closer, she wrapped her arms around Tracey and held her tight. "It'll be okay. You don't have to be afraid any more."
"They weren't right." She whispered softly. "You could have had a life, you could have a life." She rubbed Tracey's back. "You don't have to listen to your mother now. And what doesn't Sara know?" she had never liked the brunette Slytherin.
