"You're lucky you had a house left," Tracey observed coolly. Heidi likely wouldn't have stayed out of the papers if she burned her house down. She had no doubt that Heidi was well entertained despite not getting her pancakes, but she really didn't want hear her say it.
"It's something I've picked up," Tracey replied, continuing to eat. "I spend a lot of time alone after work so it occupies my time. I stop at the market on the way home and pick up whatever I need. I make a meal which takes a couple hours. I eat it and read a little before bed. That is my routine. So, I read some books on cooking and just...experimented."
It sounded so pathetic as her own words rung in her ears.
