"I was wondering about that." Tracey gave a soft chuckle. "I just gave up on that burner and used another." She grinned. "Did something explode? What did you do?" She hoped it was a funny story; something funny was something she could use in that moment.
Finishing her salad, Tracey got up and took the rolls out of the oven. Still piping hot, she opened the foil and steam rose from the where they sat on the table. Taking the plates, she spooned out the casserole and buttered a couple of rolls before setting the plates down for each of them.
Taking a forkful, Tracey blew on it lightly before tasting it. It turned out pretty good. It was a little spicy but she really liked it. She tried not to look too anxious, but she watched Heidi for a reaction.
